For bookkeepers, employers and partners

Everything on this site is free and stays free. This page is for the people who answer other people’s payroll questions for a living, and for the organisations whose job is to help someone read their first Canadian pay stub.

Bookkeepers, payroll administrators and CPA firms

Clients ask why a net figure moved, and answering it costs billable time that cannot be recovered.

  • Embed the deduction calculator on your own site so a client answers the simple version themselves.
  • Send them a calculation permalink instead of a screenshot — the answer opens at its own address, with the working shown.
  • Take the 2026 rate data as JSON and drive your own spreadsheets and checklists from it.
  • Get the rate-change email so a rate move never reaches you from a client first.

Employers and HR teams

Payroll queries land on HR rather than payroll, and most of them are the same six questions.

  • Link staff to the page that answers the question rather than writing the explanation again.
  • Put the calculator on your intranet or careers page with one iframe.
  • Use the payroll message generator so an employee arrives at payroll with a specific, answerable question.
  • Point new joiners at the newcomer guide, which explains a Canadian stub from nothing.

Credit unions, financial-wellbeing and literacy programmes

Take-home pay is the number every budgeting conversation starts from, and members guess it.

  • Embed the calculator with no tracking of your members — it runs entirely in their browser and sends nothing anywhere.
  • Nothing on the widget advertises, upsells or collects. We do not sell payroll software, so there is nothing to steer anyone towards.
  • Every figure is sourced to the CRA, Revenu Québec or the province, and the testing behind it is published.

Unions and worker advocacy

Members bring a stub they cannot read and a suspicion they cannot test.

  • The red-flag guide gives a member the arithmetic to check a line themselves before it becomes a grievance.
  • Province pages carry the overtime threshold, vacation tiers, statutory holidays and final-pay deadline with the government source beside each.
  • Rate-change alerts tell you the day a provincial floor moves.

Settlement agencies and campus career centres

A first Canadian pay stub is unreadable to someone who has never seen one, and nobody has time to explain it one at a time.

  • The annotated pay-stub diagram is one page you can print or project.
  • French pages are written in Quebec French, not machine-translated.
  • Everything is free, has no account, no paywall and no data collection.

What we are not

We do not sell payroll software, we do not take a referral fee from anyone who does, and we run no advertising. That is not modesty — it is the reason the calculations can be trusted. Every free payroll calculator in this market is published by a company that sells the thing the calculator creates demand for, and none of them disclose it. We have nothing to sell you, so a number here is only ever the number.

What we would like in return

If you embed the calculator, leave the attribution link in place. If you quote a figure from the data, name the source. If you find something wrong, tell us and it gets fixed the same week. That is the whole arrangement.

Talk to us

A different embed size, a French build, a province-locked widget, a bulk extract, or a question about how a figure is derived — email hello@paystubiq.com. PayStub IQ Canada is published by GoldPaid Ltd; the registered details are in the footer of every page.

Get told the day a Canadian payroll rate changes

Seven jurisdictions have a minimum wage increase already published for the next few weeks, and every federal and provincial figure is re-indexed each January. One short email when a rate actually moves. If you run payroll or keep books, this is the one you want.

Your address is used for this and nothing else. It is never sold, never rented, and never passed to a third party for their own marketing. Full detail in the privacy policy.
